It’s mid-April here in Muskoka, and I am in my front yard shoveling snow. That’s right.
It is melting, but I can’t wait to get to my little garden and get my hands into the earth. If I don’t remove the hard snow, it might be May before I can do that! When I hear people complain about the weather—and boy do people ever love to do that-- I think, why bother? I smile to myself and read what my favorite t-shirt says, “NO REALLY that’s very interesting. PLEASE…GO ON.” Haha. The weather is going to be whatever the weather is going to be. I refuse to complain about it. We can’t change it, but we can change our attitude about it (or move south!) I love this quote; “There is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing"- Ranulf Fiennes. When Spring arrives and people talk about how brown, sandy and gloomy it is, I must disagree. I see geese arriving, squirrels and chipmunks running about, birds singing, water flowing, snow melting and warmth in the sun. The buds are slowly starting to wake up and I am excited with anticipation. New beginnings. Every season has its “wonderfulness.” Enjoy it. And if you still have snow in April, put on your t-shirt, your boots, get your shovel out and remember… Little miracles are everywhere, if you choose to find them. Happy Spring!

Love this post Yvonne, it poured rain here alll yesterday and I had SO much energy! My friend told me that spring rain washes all our cares and troubles away and then we start fresh! I love it, bring on the rain. Have a great day! Donna

Awesome Donna! I love your friend's perspective too! It's all in how we choose to look at it. From now on when it's pouring, I'm going to visualize all my cares and troubles washing away. Thanks for that! :)

Yvonne, I so agree with you. Spring for me is like a rebirth of nature. I so love the green fields, flowers, squirrels, birds and all the sounds of spring. One thing we must always remember is that we cannot change our age or the weather....and why would we want to

Wise wise words, Jane! As we know only too well...aging/growing old is a privilege. Experiencing the change of season is exhilarating .and yes, a rebirth of nature. So let's put on our rubber boots and get out there in the mud! :)

I love spring because everywhere is "new" again after the long, cold winter. A special reason is that it's our 55th wedding anniversary today, Apr. 21. Gerry was a Royal Navy man and oure wedding had already been postponed due to "military commitments" so we were relieved that everything went off well with the planned second date. Wedding bouquet, spring flowers ... still love them the best. Christine T
