Have You Found YOUR Post Yet?

I’ve been reflecting on the last couple of months in my small community
and while taping my latest eight interviews for my Roger’s TV series. I have listened to amazing and inspiring stories, but I have also heard about painful journeys and big grief as people have struggled to find their authentic selves and new meaning in theirs lives.

Recently, there have been several deaths, people I knew and cared about; some anticipated, some not. Our community is grieving. We are grieving our cat Smokie too!

As I aspire to empower people (and myself) to navigate through life, grief and death,
I have to remember to take good care of myself as I grieve too. If I want to “Just Show Up”
for others, I have to keep in mind; “Show Up for Yourself First.”
I dig into my self-care toolbox and fix my heart with memories and also have a good cry.
Next is remembering my Post, and holding onto it.

Your Post; That internal or permanent something you can
always turn to—no matter what—in times of despair.

Is it your religion, spirituality, meditation, yoga, art, music, singing, nature?
Whatever it is, it’s always there for you.

My Post is nature. So today, I am going for a snowshoe with Geordie and Tanner.
Out on the trail is where I feel revived, connected and rejuvenated. It feeds my heart and soul.
So in times of grief, or whatever you may be going through…

Find Your Post, and Hold Onto It.
What is your Post?

No matter what my external world presents on a daily basis I know that being Love and Light for myself and others is my post.
This can translate in simply smiling at everyone be as i walk through the mall or uptown. Thanks yvonne for the reminder xo

You are SO right! Being Love and Light doesn't have to cost a thing or take a lot of time. It's in every small gesture. And it sure does make everyone feel great! I love your Post! :)

My post is my faith in God and His importance in my life. I have experienced one miracle after another. There have been losses, sad times, & tribulations, but following His instruction to love all humanity He has led me through & directed my path. My life has been awesome.

How wonderful to have that deep belief and connection, and to be able to witness miracles in your life! And to be able to say "my life has been awesome" if a wonderful gift!

My first thought was that my post is my husband of 55 years. While that's wonderful and true, I think our posts also need to be be something eternal, like nature, or faith, or simply acknowledging and nurturing the divine spark within ourselves (another definition of God.) This allows us to be our own strong posts in dark times, as well as posts for others.

This is indeed my message Wendy. It's wonderful to have people we can count on in our lives...55 years...WOW! But...we also need a Post that will be there for us no matter what. People cannot always be there, in a sad moment where we need something to hang onto! Love what you wrote about nurturing that divine spark. That's up to us, isn't it! :)
