The roller coaster ride of emotions is over…yeah right…wouldn’t that be nice.
Yesterday was the day we loved Kuba until his very last breath.
We held him, cried, snuggled, he ate so many treats…and we said goodbye.
As I write these words the tears are streaming down my face.
And that’s OK. I’m really sad.
I’m taking this day slowly, one hour at a time, doing what I need to do and figuring that out as I go along.
I don’t really want to talk much. I just want to be OK with how I feel.
I’m happy he is not suffering anymore, then feel guilty for the things I wish I did differently,
then I forgive myself. I can’t believe our dog is gone.
I’m all over the place. And that’s OK, because then I remind myself that Kuba lives in our hearts forever.
And that his spirit is free.
Jadyn and Tanner knew this day was coming, they said their goodbyes to Kuba,
and went on holidays with family. It’s going to be hard to see their faces tomorrow
and hold their broken hearts. But I know deep down, our hearts will heal.
But right now, I’m just sad.
We held him and loved Kuba till the very end.
We created a scared pet space, where we can sit and talk to him.
He was a really good dog.
“Thank you, Kuba."

It is a big loss with big grief. I will feel sad for...well for however long I do. I'm sorry to hear that you have been through it many times. Grief is hard, but worth all the love that we were given. Sending a hug from me to you. xo

I lost my Sadie this week and I am sad too. 13 years. I feel her still in the house. Hear her old grunts and feel her hugs wrapped around my ankle. I will miss her like crazy but am happy she is released from her pain.

I'm so sorry to hear about Sadie, but happy that you still feel her presence, and had her love for 13 years. You son has not known life with her, so that is a big loss. When our pug Frankie died, our twins were 9 and their hearts were broken. We grieved hard and our hearts slowly healed. Children learning that "grief is sometimes the price of loving, but it's worth it, and our hearts do heal" is so important. I am grateful to our dogs for teaching them that lesson. Sending love and healing right back to you and your family. xo

I am so sorry to hear of your dear Kuba dying. I guess it really does help me when we had to put our cat Rascal down that she is no longer suffering! I hope in time your pain will lessen and the memories of her can be cherished for ever! Take care!Love Janice Mackay

My Condolences. I'm so sorry to hear that he has left this earth. He suffers no more. It's painful I know. We lost our cat two years ago. It was difficult to get through. Animals feel us more than we know and give us so much love. Big Hugs & Kisses.

Thank you, Denise. I'm a cat lover too. Had to explain to our cat Smokie that she wouldn't be able to boss Kuba around anymore. She sat by him for a while before he left. xo
